"R" as Recycled and Ripstop

What does Ripstop mean?

The fabric that is used in all our bags is classified as rPET Ripstop it is a fabric made with a woven technology. Its main feature is its high ability to resist tearing, the Ripstop resistance is so high that it is used in the military.

Starting with these important characteristics we decided to use Ripstop technology on all MIGRA SURF bags. Ripstop fabric has superior resistance and any cuts that are confined between the stronger fabric filaments reach more difficult to expand. This main feature makes our products suitable for all surfers that love durable stuff in difficult weather conditions.

Of course rPET  is an eco-friendly fabric.
“r” comes from Recycled, it’s a polyester material obtained from the recycling of waste materials.
It comes mostly from recycled PET bottles and in minimum part from industrial polyester waste.

Recycled PET is the polymer (plastic) obtained through recovery and recycling processes of the common PET which distinguishes the sorting, washing, shredding and melting of plastic materials.
The power of rPET is also to reduce the footprint because its production allows to lower the values of the CO2 footprint linked to production, increasing its environmental sustainability.
